In a little more than a fortnight, Taylor Swift may be taking home some hardware.
Nominations for MTV’s 2024 Video Music Awards were announced Aug. 6 and Swift leads the field with 10 nods, including one for the event’s big award, video of the year for “Fortnight.”
If she wins, she'd extend her own record by becoming the first artist to win the moon man five times in the category. Swift is also up for artist of the year, while the song also earned her a nomination for song of the year and best collaboration, with Post Malone.
Speaking of Malone, he’s hot on Swift’s heels, with nine nominations of his own. In addition to appearing in the best collaboration field with Swift, Malone is nominated for his hit “I Had Some Help” with Morgan Wallen.
Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter and Eminem have six nominations apiece, while Megan Thee Stallion and SZA notched five each.
There are 29 first-time nominees, including such names as Wallen, Benson Boone, Chappell Roan, Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll and Swims.
Fans can vote for their choices in 15 categories at MTV.com through Aug. 30, while voting for best new artist will stay open through Sept. 10. Nominations for social categories will be announced at a later date.
The VMAs will air live on MTV on Tuesday, Sept. 10 from UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.
