Led by Gal Gadot as Rachel Stone, an intelligence operative whose mission is to protect the mysterious weapon known as 'The Heart.'

Close is a heavier, bloodier film than Heart of Stone, but it'll get your heart pumping equally as fast. 9 Sweet Girl

Led by Jason Momoa as Ray Cooper, Sweet Girl keeps within the conventions of the action genre whilst dealing with an element not too commonly seen in Netflix Originals in this genre, family. With Ray attempting to exact revenge on the people responsible for his wife's death while trying to protect the family he has left in his daughter (Isabela Merced), emotions run high throughout the film for the characters and the audience equally.

Although the film may have had more potential to move away from the standard conventions we see in the action genre, the sequences are filled with top-tier stunts that make this film so easy to enjoy. 8 Interceptor

With Elsa Pataky as the lead in one of Netflix's more recent action releases, Interceptor features some of the most entertaining action in a Netflix original film in the genre. With some of the humorous elements of Heart of Stone present, this film also deals with some more sensitive topics that help us empathize with the characters.

Pataky portrays an Army captain who has to defend the remote missile interceptor station that she's in command of when a coordinated attack threatens the base. Once again dealing with a parent-daughter dynamic, The Mother sees Jennifer Lopez step into the lead role as the title character of a film which also has deep-rooted emotions driving the story forward. Later down the road, The Mother has no choice but to attempt to rescue her daughter after she's kidnapped by criminals. 6 The Angel

As one of the older films in this list, The Angel is without a doubt one of the best Netflix originals in the spy-thriller genre. Trying to steal the money of a South American drug lord is enough to keep you watching, but the gritty action sequences that come with the plot make this film one of the best on this list.

The Old Guard dips its fingers into a genre that no other film does on this list, that being fantasy with a touch of sci-fi. A group of mercenaries led by Charlize Theron's character "Andy," centuries-old immortals with the ability to heal themselves discover that someone is on to their secret, leading to them using their unique abilities to prevent this secret from being exposed.

Despite the film featuring some pretty unrealistic elements, to say the least, The Old Guard actually has one of the darker, grittier feels compared to other films in this list, creating a perfect balance of tones in the film. The action scenes are always a joy to watch, which are able to give a unique twist due to the powers that the characters possess.

Another one of Netflix's biggest original hits, The Gray Man is another film that the platform hopes to turn into a franchise, as is the plan with Heart of Stone. This film perhaps shares the most similarities with Heart of Stone with its balance of spy-inspired action with some comedic tropes embedded throughout. Sharing the biggest Netflix budget of $200 million with Red Notice, this film made it clear where Netflix sees its most potential in regard to its original films

With Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana De Armas all delivering on their exciting, enjoyable characters to watch, The Gray Man hooks you from the get-go and never drops its tempo.
